Welcome to Kwandrans Tae Kwon-do. We hope you will find our website informative and exciting! We are a traditional Tae Kwon-do school, with a little bit more. Our Martial Arts program includes very practical self defense, dynamic kicking, boxing aspects and all the integral aspects of "traditional" Tae Kwon-do. All these absolute qualities make our program a must for you and your family.
Mr. Kwandrans, our Master Instructor, began teaching here in 1988. His goal has been to share his passion of the Martial Arts with as many as possible. Through years of very disciplined and exciting classes, many students have been able to improve their daily lives. If a student focuses on the training, they will become more confident and able to defend themselves. These are both important and should be a part of ANY Martial Arts program. Here at Kwandrans Tae Kwon-do we offer more! Tae kwon-do should walk along side you through your daily life. We are students of Tae Kwon-do inside the do-jang as well as outside. We expect our students and instructors to conduct themselves respectfully at all times. This is part of the "traditional" aspect of what we still teach today.
You will find a family-type atmosphere at Kwandrans Tae kwon-do. We encourage entire families to train and offer family discounts. Mr. Kwandrans always says, "A family that trains together, stays together". The friendly welcome a new student receives helps them to feel part of the class when joining. We offer a Little Dragons program designed for 4-6 year olds. These children graduate from this program and will be ready for the next level of class called beginner Tae Kwon-do. Our Tae Kwon-do classes are split up by rank and age to allow teaching dedicated to that particular group. We also offer a boxercise class for the person wanting to just "work out". We are currently designing some specialty classes for 2012.
Mr. Kwandrans competed all over the country and internationally as well. He has won countless champion titles, including a super middleweight kickboxing title belt in 2000. Part of his success has been in training students that are successful in competitions as well. An instructor's worth is in his student. Mr. Kwandrans has since retired from competing, but we have students competing in various tournaments today. Competing is good to help build confidence, but is encouraged, not forced.
We offer programs for everyone in the family! Look through our various programs page to see what these exciting programs have to offer you and your family. You will find all of our instructors have one thing in common. Every instructor at Kwandrans Tae Kwon-do wants to carry on the tradition of sharing their passion of Martial Arts with as many students as possible, just as Mr. Kwandrans has done for so many years. You will find that we are a "full service" martial arts school and truly care about our students. We want them to do well in life as well as Tae Kwon-do. Our goal is to help build a healthy mind, body and heart. This can be accomplished through the hard work and dedication that our classes demand. We are proud of the programs offered at Kwandrans Tae Kwon-do and we're excited to share them with you and your family.........

This month we will use "follow through" for our word/phrase of the month. Most likely, all of us have set New Year resolutions for ourselves. Sometimes we give up when we realize our resolution or goal is going to be difficult to achieve. In order to be successful, we need to focus on the hard part. School work and our daily jobs require "follow through" as well. We have a new year to train hard in and many exciting experiences to encounter. Plan on training hard in 2012!
"Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them-a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have the skill, and the will, but the will must be stronger than the skill"
Mohammad Ali
In our Little Dragons program, we feel your child will gain coordination, confidence, attention span length, respect and just have a great time learning some basics of Tae Kwon-do!
The staff at Kwandrans Tae Kwon-do has designed this program through experience and the need to help the younger "future" Martial Artist to be better prepared for class. The goal of our Little Dragons program is to help them gain the tools needed to succeed in school as well as our traditional Tae Kwon-do class.
You will find our program is challenging, rewarding and helpful to your child. It is our goal to have your Little Dragon excited to come back to class each week. Your child will learn how to follow directions, learn coordination drills, balance, sharing and also learning some basic Tae Kwon-do techniques.
The Little Dragons program at Kwandrans Tae Kwon do is a fun class for kids that require discipline and respect while learning coordination, balance, listening, cooperation and following instructions. The fun is in coming to class and watch your child grow!
Classes are held on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings. We run our classes in 12 week sessions in the Fall, Winter and Spring. During the Summer we have an 8 week session. All classes are pre-register only and class sizes are limited so that our instructors can give the individual attention needed for this young age. You can call or email the school to find out more about these classes or to register for our next session.
CLASS DAYS AND TIMES
Kwandrans' Boxercise classes produce a strenuous, aerobic-like workout, with a focus on using punching and kicking as part of the key exercises. Each class is then varied slightly to additionally focus on a particular muscle group (legs, core, upper body, etc.). All of the classes enable each participant to push themselves towards personal goals of both physical and mental betterment.
SATURDAY 9-10am
TUESDAY 9:15-10:15am
THURSDAY 9:15-10:15am
Boxercise classes run consecutively for 8 weeks from Fall to Spring. Our next sessions start the week of February 27th. You must register for sessions by calling the school (585)798-6091 or email. No prior experience is necessary to participate.
At our belt testings, Kwandrans Tae Kwon-do charges a small admission fee and we do a 50/50 raffle. All proceeds from both are donated to a local charity. At our last belt testing, we donated to the "Toys for Tots". Thank you to all the parents, students, family and friends for their continued support!
