Tae Kwon-do was developed in 1955 by General Choi Hong Hi from the earlier martial art called Tae Kyon, which originated in Korea about 1300 years ago.

In a dedication, an instructor wrote: "The true value of an instructor is not in how well he can perform, but in how well he can make others perform.  A teacher's true worth is in his students.

We, the instructors and students of Kwandrans Tae Kwon-do sincerely believe that by training through tradition and following the tenets and rules of Tae Kwon-do, we will find the true spirit of Tae Kwon-do and ourselves.

The emphasis of our program is on establishing self-discipline and self-motivation in each student.  Self development is built into our Tae Kwon-do instruction.  Students are encouraged to strive for peak performance.  Our program builds character and confidence by providing the student with achievement and accomplishment.

Because the length of time for achieving belts can be from three to six months, we award stripes on the belts as the student progresses between levels.  Training and passing these tests enhances the ability to concentrate, plan for and triumph over life's challenges.  This is an excellent reinforcement of study techniques for school and work.

Our Tae Kwon-Do is unmatched as a self-defense system.  It teaches many ways to handle many situations.  The benefits gained from Tae Kwon-Do training can and will last a lifetime.  Tae Kwon-Do will help us reach peak performance both mentally and physically.

Kwandrans TKD has many talented black belts that help instruct weekly.  We strive to offer strong role models for students to learn from and train with.  The staff at Kwandrans TKD works diligently on maintaining a positive atmosphere for families to train in, that enable them to focus solely on TKD.  We want your experience with Martial Arts to be the very best!
